About Us
The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths
At H.G. Bespoke, we call upon craft skills developed over six and a half centuries by the masters of our trade. Handed down from master to apprentice through many generations, and eventually to our classically trained bench jeweller. These traditional skills provide you with the care of a Master Craftsman with more than three decades at his bench, producing and manufacturing fine jewellery of the highest quality.
H.G. Bespoke offers a full service, beginning with the initial design of your individual piece and remaining engaged up to the final production of a beautiful, handmade, and utterly unique creation.
The initial design process.
Our Service.
We start by ascertaining your budget, and then with your input we often build a portfolio of visual reference material to inspire the design process. Traditional workshop paint-ups can be added to your package to facilitate your visualising the final look before manufacture commences. There is an additional cost for this, so where possible we try to help by showing images of past pieces, as well as allowing you to see and try on items in the process of manufacture, to help reduce your expenditure.
Once we have completed the initial design process, we then source Guaranteed Conflict-Free diamonds and/or any other stones needed for your piece. Where possible, a small selection will be brought back to the workshop for you to choose the one you wish to wear.
The crafting process itself is somewhat organic, as stones can sometimes dictate the form a ring must take to accommodate and better express certain aspects of a stone, such as cut, polish, and symmetry, along with considerations regarding metal use and how this would affect the stone’s colour.
Stones.
All of our larger stones come with either GIA, IGI, or HRD certificates, except where on occasion certain stones have yet to be certified, or if they come to us as H.G's Historical pieces.
For finer/high jewellery pieces we recommend stones should be D, E or F colour with a clarity rating of Vs2 or above, to preserve the integrity of your design and your financial investment. For more vintage or historical led designs, we often look towards more down-colour stones (anything from J/K colour to Z) to better encapsulate the ‘look’. With these more vintage commissions we still urge our clients to choose as high a clarity rating as possible, though often with unique stones they will come as we find them. In all cases the quality of the stone and its suitability for your piece will be assessed by a Master with many years of appreciable stone knowledge.

Keepsakes & Memories.
For more intricate pieces, H.G. Bespoke will take photographs of progress at the bench, which will be sent to you to as a keepsake at the point of completion. This provides you with a permanent record showcasing the story of your jewellery’s creation as well as your role as a patron of more than half a millennium of traditional crafts in London’s jewellery trade.
Several H.G. Bespoke clients have then turned these images into physical photo albums as something to easily show to friends and family. This is especially fun if clients have enjoyed one of our Wedding Ring Experience days where they have been taught how to make each other’s wedding bands.
All the above, along with the initial visit to the workshop in London, which H.G. Bespoke encourages you to make, will form a part of the H.G. Bespoke service package to you.

Aftersales care.
After the first few months, the skin on your finger will 'settle' around the ring. It can often be the case that upon wearing a new ring the fit is not as satisfying as possible. This is an entirely individual process which can result in minor adjustments needing to be made after the first month or so. To ensure the continued value of your investment, H.G. Bespoke offers a complimentary sizing adjustment for free within the first six months of you taking your new piece home.
Normal wear and tear are going to mark your ring; this is part of the living finish of a piece of jewellery and is a part of its continuing story. For a nominal fee, any possible deeper marks detracting from the living finish can be repaired for you with new metal to bring your ring back to a 'near new state' if necessary. H.G. Bespoke will make repairs to your living finish with a precision engineered Class 4 Laser. Repairs are guaranteed to be carried out with new metal rather than filling the repairs with solders as was traditionally done.

Guaranteed for Life.
The final part of our aftersales is a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defect. This does not cover misuse, accidental damage or normal wear and tear but rather inconsistencies in the raw materials. Platinum and Gold are natural materials so there is always a risk of possible internal imperfections that are undetectable in the manufacturing process. This has not happened to our Master Ring Maker in his 32 years at the bench. However, as a precaution H.G. Bespoke feel it is prudent to offer this as part of our Bespoke service. In the case of there being a manufacturing fault that results in the failure of your piece, we will remake the same ring again for you using new metal at absolutely no cost to you! As stated, this does not cover hard wearing or misuse, only material or manufacturing fault.
In addition to all of this, any piece manufactured by H.G. Bespoke and covered by a complete and documented service record in our archives will, upon becoming an inherited piece, be eligible for a resizing to its new inherited owner. This can only be offered to pieces with a full history of a biannual care maintenance.
Altogether our aftersales services are as comprehensive as the initial design and production parts of our relationship with you the client. You will find the depth of care in all H.G. Bespoke services will not be beaten in Hatton Garden by another workshop!
In Conclusion.
By coming to the H.G. Bespoke workshop, you will not just be purchasing a piece of finely crafted jewellery but also the culmination of a lifetime of dedicated service to a craft and industry we love. At H.G. Bespoke, we wish to imbue our work with the skills and attention to detail that have thus far set our workshop apart from others, many of whom are unwilling to spend time on the pieces they manufacture and, as importantly, time with their customers.
To have a H.G. Bespoke piece is to be the owner of something that is more than just a piece of jewellery; it carries with it a deeper connection to the maker. Someone who has spent a lifetime honing skills, with an insatiable passion for his traditional hand craft. If this is what you are looking for, then you will know that H.G. Bespoke is the right choice for the continuing jewellery needs of you, your family, and your friends.
If you wish to be a part of this lineage of skills, please allow us to invite you into our creative home.
